To help preserve the Independent Contractor (IC) model, a group of stakeholders has come together to create the TIE coalition. The purpose of the coalition is to educate policymakers on the value of the independent contractor model, identify successful independent contractors who can share their stories, and coordinate efforts amongst the companies, trade associations, and other participants. We are engaging Congress to ensure they understand the role the IC driver plays in the economy, their states, and also their districts. We are bringing in drivers to meet with members of Congress and share their stories as entrepreneurs and members of our communities.

the VOICES behind the supply chain
Truck drivers ensure we have every necessity, from food to clothing and medicine to machinery. Without them, our shelves would be empty, but they push on mile after mile to keep that from happening.
Here are Their Stories
"We stay out. I think we are the backbone, honestly. We are the ones that get everything moving..."
I learned at a young age that being an owner operator gave me the opportunity to get rewarded with hard work vs an hourly paycheck. The harder I work the more I can provide for my family. As an owner operator I am able to choose which jobs I want to complete. I dont have restrictions on when I can start and finish my day. I can work one day and choose to see family the next. Being an employee driver would ruin my family schedule and require me to be away for days at a time.
